Sir,
I have the honor to report that no cases in which the interests of the freedmen were involved were examined by the courts of this sub-district during the past month. I was absent at the time of the sitting (being in N.Y. City to be examined for an appointment in the 44th U.S. Infty) but I have obtained this information from the clerk of the court of Dinwiddie County, and from a lawyer who was at the Pr. Geo. Court, and informed me, that not a case of any kind was tried in the court of that County.
Very respectfully, Your obt. serv't
J.A. Yeckley
Lt. &c
