March 25th 1867.

General - I have the honor to make the following report relative to the administration of civil justice, in this Sub District, comprising the counties of Montgomery, Pulaski and Giles, 8th Dist. Dept. of the Potomac, for the month of March 1867.

The courts all adjourned without transacting any business, in order to await the action of Congress, in regard to the Military Bill - all cases for trial were postposed until the April courts.

The local magistrates as far as I can learn, have acted wisely, impartially, and in justice to the parties concerned, in all cases brought before them for a hearing.
