No. 6 Hd. Qrs. Asst Com St of Va.

4th. - "Wm. Mason" - Cold. Indicted, and tried before Jury, for Petit Larceny - Stealing an axe worth $200. Pleaded not guilty. Convicted, and sentenced to thirty days confinement in County jail. This man was apprehended in Feb., and his case was made mention of in my Report for that month pursuant to Circular No. 10.

5th "Flemon" & "Brooks C. Saunders" - Cold. for Petit Larceny. Indictment returned by Grand Jury "Not a true Bill." Defendants released. These two parties were also apprehended in Feb., and their case was likewise made mention of in my Report at the end of that month, pursuant to Circular No 10. I stated at the time I had reason to believe that the prosecution was a malicious one.

6th - "Alexander Firth" - Cold. For Petit Larceny. Indictment returned by the Grand Jury, "Not a true Bill". Defendant discharged. This man was also apprehended in Feb., and his case was likewise made mention of in my Report of that month, pursuant to Circular No. 10.

7th "Squire Paterson" - Cold. - and "Mary Parris" - white. Presented for unlawfully cohabiting together. Summons awarded against them, to appear at August term of the Court. This occurrence was detailed in my Report of Sept 30th, pursuant to Circular No 6, and remarked on again in my Report of 31st October, pursuant to Circular No. 10. There have arisen two or more such cases since last August. 

8th "John Henry Greer" - white. Presented for shooting at "Robt. Tinsley" - Cold, with intent to kill. Bench warrant issued - but from Defendant being sick abed, nothing further has been done. Mention was made of this occurrence in my Report of 31st January, in compliance with Circular No. 10. The Magis-
