I have the honor to report that I attended the courts of my Sub District during the month  There were four freedmen tried at the superior court of Sussex co three upon the charge of Burglary and one upon the charge of Grand Larceny one of the former was acquitted and two were found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment for five and three years respectively  The trials were conducted fairly

The latter George Parham was tried upon the charge of breaking and entering the corn crib of Mrs Horn and stealing therefrom seven (7) bushels of corn

The evidence went to show that Mrs Horns crib was entered during the night and corn taken therefrom and that a cart had come from George Parhams to the
