In compliance with Par 6th Circular No 10 Bur R F and A Lands dated Feb 25 Asst Com'r State of Va Richmond Va March 12th 1867

I have the honor to report the following cases that was tried during the May term of the Circuit Court for the County of Clark and the degree of punishment inflicted in such case.

Mary Parker (Freedgirl) was tried for stealing Jewelry amounting as was found to about Fifty-five Dollars, was found guilty and sentenced to three years confinement in the Penitentiary.  John Taylor (Freedman) was tried for Murdering on Judd or Judson Grim Freedman of Clark Co Va, was found guilty of Murder in the second degree, and sentenced to 12 years Confinement at hard labor in the Penitentiary. Another Trust - Freedman was tried for stealing from 12 to 15 bushels of wheat robing
