any injustice that may be done the Freedmen.

In Nottoway County the Justices will act in Freedmen's cases when called upon to do so, a few of the old Justices yet exhibit a slight feeling of indifference and prejudice against the Freedmen as shown by their frequent postponements of a Freedmen's case. Unnecessary delays in giving judgements for services rendered and other petty ways.

The additional authority conferred upon the Bureau Officers as Milt'y Coms'rs, in my opinion has a wholesome effect upon some of the old inefficient and prejudiced Justices of these Counties.

There has been no Freedmen's cases tried before the County Courts during the past month of any importance.
