I have the honor to report. in obedience to circular No 10. Head Qrs. Asst Commr of Va dated March 12th 1866.
Being engaged in the Registration of this Co, there were only three cases. come under my notice which were brought before the civil authorities for investigation, two being for wages, in each of which the freedmen obtained judgement.
The third case came under my notice during the Session of the Board of Registration at West Point Church in the lower part of this County. Charges being profered against a colored man named George Tate, by Samuel Pilcher, White, on the grounds that said Tate had entered or broken into a Granary, or Storeroom belonging to Pilcher, and had stolen some corn therefrom, and had a fire burning during the night which might have resulted in the destruction of said
