Schofield requesting the inter position of the Military Authorities in this Case (as follows.). In 1858 he give a deed of trust on his farm (97 acres of land) to a Mr Carrol and others for debts that he owed amounting to nearly 500$. In 1862 his creditors Sold his land for the payment of the deed of trust for $647.00 in Confederate Money. to satisfy the debt. He acknowledges the debt a just one but thought his land was sold too cheap. Upon the Case being brought up before me both parties came Came to a mutual agreement which was this. that the parties who have posession of the Balls land now will deed it back to him by he paying to them by the 1st of September 1868. The sum of Six Hundred Dollars (600$) This agreement was satisfactory to both parties. And a copy of the agreement filed with the Clerk of the County Court of Russell and another copy forwarded to Genl Schofield Comdg Lieut Mil Dist.
