He has since then, severely whipped two children of a colored man, for trespassing on his carriage or Mill road - without it is alleged, the least provocation, except that their father had united with said organization. Mr. Preston States publicly that he will not allow one of them to come on his place. This case has been reported to the Maj. Genl. Com'dg this Sub District. 

One or more cases were before me of alleged injustice by magistrates, but on making a thorough investigation of all the facts, I found that said civil officers had acted judiciously, and in strict conformity to the law - the freedmen were afterward satisfied that they had been justly dealt with.
 
Several Chancery Cases were referred by the General Com'dg for investigation and report - his instructions were fully complied with. Also several cases of minor importance.
