They were complained of by the freedmen & the witnesses were all freedman and by them they were found guilty. The magistrate put them under a bond of (100) one hundred dollars for their future good behavior a white man wend bonds for Washington Chum and a freedman for Joseph Wanser

I believe justice was done & the authorites were as mild to them as they would be to a white person under the same circumstances.

I have reasons to believe that the Civil Authority will do justice to freedmen and whites both alike
