Lieut.
In compliance with Cir No 10. par 7. Hd Qrs Asst Comr State of Va. I have the honor to report that no cases of Freedpeople have been tried the present month.

In regard to the case of George Tate (Col'd) an insane man confined in the County Jail. it was decided by the Court that the Law demanded that he remain in Jail untill room could be obtained in the insane asylum for his reception, and I was requested. to ask the military authorities to take temporary care of him, in consideration of the fact that the Jail is not a fit place for an insane person. The endorsement in my first communication is however received, ordering that he be sent to Howard Grove Hospital.

over.
