In reference to the statement of one Bolling, made to James L Bain "that if he (Bain) did not leave him (Huggins) alone, he would kill him" - I have been unable to obtain his sworn testimony.

The wound received by Huggins is about four inches above the foot, in the shin. Thirty eight holes having been counted, where the shot entered. But one shot has been extracted, the others remain imbeded in the flesh - It is not known whether any have penetrated the bone. Two places, about the size of a quarter of a dollar, are exceedingly sore and tender, the others are healing up very fast. He now walks almost as well as usual, only a little lame. The theft of the possom and shoulder of meat took place some time after the shooting, when Huggins was confined to his bed, from the effects of the wound.
