Office A.S.A.C 2d Div 6th S D Bowling Green Caroline Co Va November 30th 1867 Bvt Brig Genl O Brown Asst Comr Dist Virginia Richmond Va General In compliance with Circular No 10 Hd Qrs Asst Comr State of Va. Richmond Va March 12th, 1866, I have the honor to report, Three Freedmen were tried before our County Courts in this Division Viz. Thornton Jones, for Stealing Iron, Milton Carter for breaking into a Barn in the night time, and stealing 12 bushels of Wheat, in both cases the evidence was conclusive. (the accused admitted their guilt) They were tried by Jury and found guilty. Thornton Jones was sentenced to Thirty days in the County Jail, and Milton Carter to Three years in the penitentiary. James Fox, alias "Capt Fox" who was arrested for being engaged in an outrage at "Trices farm" in this County was discharged, there not being any evidense against him Par 4 & 5 and the endorsement of General Terry are complied with as far as I can learn I am General Very respectfully Your Obdt Servt John O' Dwyer Bvt Col A.S.A.C
