Comr Dist of Va Richmond Va General: I have the honor to report, in compliance with par 6 Circular No 10, Hd Qrs Asst Comr State of Va. dated Richmond Va March 12th 1866, the result of transferring to the Civil Authorities jurisdiction in criminal cases over colored persons with reference to the interests of the latter &c - The case of The Commonwealth vs Wm. Wangle previously reported, was disposed of this term of the County Court as contemplated in my special report of said case, the Commonwealth entered a "nolle prosequi" and the prisoner was released. - Miner cold was convicted at this term of County Court of Culpeper upon the charge of Grand Larceny The said Miner stole $90. of clothing from the Rev Mr Cole of this place & was arrested by Constable Rush and the clothing found and identified in his possession - sentenced to 3 years in the Penitentiary - Ben Long cold committed to Jail in October by Justice Lewis upon the charge of rape upon the person of a colored woman was bailed by over
