In compliance with Circular No 10 par 6. Hd Qrs Asst Comr dist of Va, I have the honor to report that at this months session of the County Court, Wm Banks (Freedmen) was tried for the alleged offense of stealing cow of Butler Edwards & sentenced to three months imprisonment in the County Jail of this County. The evidence was very clear & I think the decision a just one. This man was committed for trial last fall & bailed out of the 28th of December. Squire Lightfoot (Freedmen) was tried on the charges of beating Tazewell Willis (Freedmen) and found not guilty. The evidence showed that it was a free fight among the parties & I think this decision was substantially correct.

Respectfully Your Obt. Servt.
