Bureau R.F. and A. Lands
Hd. Qurs. 6th Division 5th Sub. Dist. Va.
Mathews Court House Va. April 1, 1868

S.C. Armstrong
Sub-Asst. Comr 5th Sub Dist Va

Sir
In compliance with Par. 6 Circular No. 10 Series /66 I have the honor to report there were no trials before the Courts of Gloucester or Mathews Co's during the past month in which freedmen were concerned

The case of Gorman (Col'd) against Allard (white) was necessarily postponed by reason of the nonappearance of Gorman: I am assured by M.B. Seavell Atty. for Commonwealth that the usual means will be taken to secure the appearance of Gorman at the June term of Court, should his whereabouts become known.

I am Sir
Very Respectfully
Your Obdt. Servt.
Thomas J Rice
A.S. Asst. Comr.
