Goochland C.H.
April 30th, 1868.

General,
In relation to the result of transferring to Civil Authorities jurisdiction in Criminal Cases, I have nothing new to offer in my report of this month, as no cases of a criminal nature have been tried in my Division.

There are quite a number of colored persons awaiting trial during the May term.

The Circuit Court set aside the verdict in the case of Willis Fowler (colored) convicted in the County Court of Fluvanna in March last of burning two barns in that County in February last, as mentioned in my last Report. A new trial will I suppose take place in May or June.

Very Respectfully,
Your Obt Sevt
