2d Sarah Brown, cold, John Ross, white. In this case John Ross while under the influence of liquor, went on the premises of Sarah Brown and assaulted by kicking her in the breast and abdomen. The case was tried before Mr Geo. W. Guin, and Ross sentenced to pay costs and give bond. A rehearing before the corporation Court in this case, will be had, on the first Saturday in July.
 
3d Philander Gearing col. vs. Andrew Syford, white - Andrew Syford in this case went to the house of Gearing, and abused his wife in her husbands absence, calling her a "black bitch"; Gearing on his return repaired to the fence of a Garden, in which Syford was working, and demanded an explanation; words followed and Syford picked up a rock, which he threw, striking Gearing and tearing his coat: two other rocks were thrown at Gearing. 

This case was tried before Alfred Seal J.P. and Syford sentenced to pay costs & be bound over in the sum of $50 to keep the peace.

No bond was taken from Syford in this case, and the magistrate pleads ignorance of
