The negro being ignorant, when in a trap, and that trap sprung, only finds out his mistake and then he calls for help then too late, and will curse all and everything white and black.  The law regarding contracts is not regarded as it should be by both parties or races.  Negroes are just as hard, if not harder on each other as others are.

Education is the only means to place these people upon an honest footing toward each other.

The whites are to a measure adverse to their education
