In Compliance with Par VI. Cir. No. 10, Series of 1866 I have the honor to report the following cases tried before the County Court of Mathews Co. and in which freedpeople were concerned, in the month of December 1868.

On an Indictment for running a horse race on the Public road on 27th of September 1868. Plea "not guilty" by J N Stubbs prisoners Counsel, replication to same and Jury and verdict "guilty" and defendants fine assessed at $1 00 and Costs of prosecution,

Prisoner appeared according to his recognizance and pleaded "not guilty" Jury and verdict "not guilty"

Prisoner appeared according to his recognizance and pleaded not guilty. Jury and verdict of "not guilty" 

There were no cases in which freedmen were concerned before the Dec. term of Court of Gloucester Co.
