Some assistance from the Bureau might secure its speedy accomplishment. I respectfully recommend that the vestries of one or more of the colored churches be rented, as temporary accommodations for the schools.

correct. As the Building on the land were erected by the "so-called" Confederate Government, application was made to the Dept Commander to have them turned over to the Bureau.
Action in the case was delayed in order that the parties interested might have time to take the case to Washington.
