Respectfully forwarded to Bvt Maj Genl J.M Schofield Asst Commissioner. So far as regards the justice of the decision of Judge Chambers in the case within specified. I have nothing to say. Yet it recurs to me that it would have been very proper to have sealed the account to gold value.
I am aware that a strong prejudice exists in the county against this Jones family & probably from the fact that none of them aided the Confederacy more than they were compelled to do. Six sons of the applicant escaped through the lines in 1864 as refugees.
