Respectfully returned - I have examined the buildings referred to within. under very favorable circumstances, there having been a heavy rain just previous to my inspection.
The repairs required are an absolute necessity. They principally consist in replacing roof boards

-the roof being board covered and not shingled. A few boards are split and need replacing_ Four or five days labor. and 500 feet of lumber. I think will cover the expense.
I recommend that this be done as soon as possible.

Respectfully returned to the Asst Com'r with the information, that the Estate in question belonged to Lewis Kennedy col'd who was a resident of Washington and died in that city about six years ago. The distribution of the Estate was placed in the hands of Mr E. C. Morgan a lawyer of that city where it now rests. Susan Mann the applicant informs me, the case has been brought before the notice of Maj Genl Howard who is investigating it.
