Respectfully returned to Genl O. Brown, as the support of teachers is wholly at the expense of voluntary charitable associations at the North. Capt Schaffer can only assure the Freedmen who desire schools that he will represent their wishes, and that teachers will sent as fast the means can be procured for their support.
