Q Did a man named George work for defendant while my wife was with him

A Yes a portion of the time;

Q Dident my wife do as much work as George did,

A She did not;

Q Dident she do as much work as George except while She was at the house Suckling her child

A While She was in the field She did, but She dident come to work as early as George did;

Q Dident She work as much as "Maria", who had a Suckling child and, who received thirty seven cents a day for her work,

A No Sir. Maria never went to her house during the day except at dinner time, and she was not hired except on extraordinary occasions, and then only receive as rations her breakfast and dinner,

Q State whether or not it was during the busy season this woman left me

A It was at the busiest season, we were pulling fodder
