Abstract of Proceedings of the Freedman's Court for the County of Elizabeth City Va. during the month of July 1866.

Emily Hickman cold. vs John Hickman cold.  Desertion.
Charge not sustained; but it appearing that Plntff & Dfdt had cohabited as Husband and Wife for a period of eight years prior to 1865 and Dfdt. acknowledging two children by Plntff., aged respectively two & four years, the Court ordered that Dfdt. pay for the benefit and support of said children the sum of Six Dollars per month

Lane Timberle cold. vs. Frederick Allen cold.   Assault & Battery
Dfdt. plead guilty; sentenced to confinement, at hard labor, for one month.

Noah Barber cold. vs. Samuel Simpson cold.  Slander.
