James Duncan (white) vs the estate of William West (cold)
Charge  Default of Payment

James Duncan (white) being duly sworn deposeth as follows. In the month of January last, I sold an anvil to William West (cold) for twelve (12) dollars, one half of the amount to be paid in work and the balance in cash. have had work done to the amt. of Six dollars. Swear positively that I have not received any money on the account.

Beverly Graves (cold) being duly sworn deposeth as follows. I was present when William West bought the anvil from Mr Duncan. heard West say he would give twelve (12) dollars for the anvil one half in work, and the balance in money.

The Court unanimously decided to give judgement in favor of plaintiff for the amount claimed.
