Barnett Jones (white) vs William Ashby (col'd.)
Charge  Debt.

Barnett Jones states I loaned Ashby Ten dollars last winter when he was hard up for food, he promising to work for me when I called on him. he refuses to work for me and I want the money.

W'm Ashby states that he received the money as stated but cannot leave his crop to work it out.

The Court decided to give Judgement in favour of plaintiff, and allow plaintiff fifteen days to pay the same.


George Greenhough (col'd) vs The Estate of W'm West.
Charge  Debt.

Geo. Greenhough states that the late W'm West owned me Ten dollars, for services of his horse to West's mare and asks that the balance of money from the sale of Wests effect, be paid to him Viz. $3.00.

Henry Winder (col'd.) being duly sworn states that he knows that West's mare had the services of Greenhoughs horse, and that the mare proved with colt. 

The Court gave judgement in favour of plaintiff and ordered that the three dollars be appropriated towards paying the same.
