Sally Cook (cold.) vs. Major Fields (cold.)
Action for the recovery of Money due.

Sally Cook states, during the month of February 1867, I bought a house from Major Fields, and paid him $14.00 for it, he told me his rent for last year was all paid, and there would be no trouble about me remaining on the land, during this year. Shortly afterwards I found out that the rent had not been paid, and that I could not remain on the land, in March my house was pulled down, and I had to move out. If I had known that the rent was not paid and that I could not live on the land I would not have bought it.

Major Fields, States I do not remember telling her that my rent was paid, I did not know that, the tenants of Newtown were notified that unless their rent was paid they must move off the land. I built the house there and wanted to make something out of it.

The Court decided that the defendant pay to the plaintiff the sum of Fourteen dollars the amt. claimed, in Twenty days.
