11. Remarks. This school was organized by a colored man named William Van, who has been teaching in Caroline County during the past Summer, and will, I think, conduct it very successfully, His charges are 50 cts per month for each scholar, and he thinks it probable that he will have in a short time from 60 to 80 scholars. A School house is very much needed at this place. It is a central locality; and is a very suitable place in all respects. With some aid by way of lumber, shingles, and windows, I think a good substantial house could be erected. I have already taken the means to learn whether a site can be obtained and what the inhabitants are willing to do, and shall report as soon as I obtain the facts.

The report of this school is made out upon the verbal statement of the teacher and is necessarily incomplete. The school in the lower end of the County reported last month, I have not been able to hear from, and therefore refrain from giving any report concerning it.

I very much hope that a suitable teacher will be furnished this

This Report is incomplete unless each blank is filled by a number, or cypher.
