NARA 510

Columbus July 25, 1867.

Wm H Ross
Agt Bu R. F. and AL.
Macon Miss.

Dear Col.
Your favor duly received. I showed the same to Major Smith and he said he would attend to it. I have reminded him of it [[strikethrough]] everyday [[strikethrough]] every day since but he has excused himself on the ground that he was not prepared to give an answer. Last night he said he hardly knew whether he had a right to do as requested by you.

Thus the matter stands.

All things moove same as usual. Barry, Fisher & all moove & act as usual.

What is the prospect with Cotton among the freedmen & is there a chance to sell it for them on commission?

In haste
Yours &c
Wm K. White.
