Capt Geo. S. Smith

Dear Sir
Mr. J. L. Hibbler has to day shown me a note from you ordering him to appear before you and show cause why he has not settled with one Tony Dasier Col, Tony lived with Mr. H. in the year 1866. I was then acting as Justice of Peace, Agent &c.

Tony Dasier came to me in person to go and make the settlement also Mr. H. consequently I went to Mr. H's and there made the entire settlement in the pressence [[presence]] of both parties, both parties agreeing upon the prior charge of each then in the settlement. Tony and his wife rcv'd starving wages, and there rcv'd their pay in full. Their wages, being for Tony $144. Polly his wife $60.
