Note.
Since the above endorsement was entered, I have been informed verbally by Lieut. Swain Asst. Judge Advocate that the order of precedence given in his opinion placing rent before labor is a clerical error and that his intention was to give labor precedence as specified in communication of the 21st October ultimo. Also communication from W.D. Longstreet, to Major Smith in regard to the condition of the crop within referred to with his endorsement thereon was received this morning and enclosed herewith to which the attention of the Major General Commanding is respectfully invited
