I have the honor to inform you that after forbidding the removal of the crop belonging to Hendrix & Dobbins I permitted Fifty (50) Bales of to be shiped in my name to Longstreet Owen & Co New Orleans - who hold a claim against Hendrix & Dobbins for advances - he Genl Longstreet pledging me that the same would be held subject to my order.

Mr. W.D. Longstreet brother of the Genls to whom has been transferd the claim of Longstreet Owen & Co and who assumed entire charge of the Plantation and affairs in question at the request of Dobbins has without my knowledge or consent shiped Six (6) Bales of Cotton in excess of the amount authorized. I stoped his shipping Five (5) Bales this morning and informed him that if he would give security for the payment of the laborers wages, in accordance with General Ord's endorsement of Nov 14"- he might make such disposition
