The undersigned would respectfully ask your attention to the following statements of fact, to wit; about the first of January  A D 1869 Mr J W Garner rented a plantation from W. D. Boykin for said year and employed Laborers to cultivate the same. The undersigned was informed knew that the said Garner had given a lien on his crop for the provisions and supplies furnished and that the law gave a lien for the rent of the land on the crop raised on the place. This said farm was placed under the supervision of G. G. Garner the son of the said J. W. Garner. The undersigned knowing the facts as above stated did stipulate and agree with the said Garner and the Freedmen employed by him that such good as we should furnish to said Freedmens employed by him should be paid for out of the said Freedmens share of the crop. The same being one fourth of the crop raised on the place and that the said Garner should deliver said Freedmens share of the crop to us to the amount of their indebtedness to us for good
