18 Mrs Catherine McCarey was on June 1st 1868 appointed teacher of Freedman School by Sub Asst Com. P. P. Bergerine under the supervision of James M Griffin, which is now progressing finely.

19 George Sullivan col'd v.s. Reiley Hilton col'd

Complaint for a debt of two and 50/100 ($2.50) dollars.  Summoned parties to appear.  Attach'd money in hands of employer.  Reily Hilton discharded and another man hired instead making attachment null & void.

20 Adam Seldom col'd v.s. Westerer Muse

Complaint of being order'd from the place for coming to town to register.  Wrote to Muse andordered him to at once settle either by paying him for what work has already been done or to allow him to remain balance of the year in accordance with contract.

The latter request was complied with.

21 Charley Green col'd v.s. Mrs. Mary P. Swager

Complaint of being ordered from place for having struck Mrs Swager's son with a light bark whip around the legs. Mrs. Swager's son George having crippled one sow by breaking her for shoulder. Case investigated. No foundation for complaint. Case dismissed.

Complaint that she has written to him to either send her money or come after him and bring her home, the latter being done she refuses to go with him Summoned Polly and George to appear. Case investigated and she refuses to go. found to be not his wife and case dismissed.
