127 15 Rob Roy cold vs. William Babers Complains that himself and wife were discharged without pay. I wrote a note to Mr. Babers demanding him to pay them the amt. due them which was done, to the satisfaction of Rob. Roy 16 Robb Leatherman vs. "Will Jenkins, Monroe Smallwood John Smith & Susan Turner" colored Request that they be ordered off his place, unless they will promise to conduct themselves courteously and honestly during the rest of the season. Case settled by Leatherman consenting for them to remain, as long as they demean themselves properly. 17. Annette cold vs. Vincy Patterson cold. Complains that Vincy stole her childs bonnet and when Annette claimed it Vincy assaulted her and tore up the bonnet and hit Annette besides tearing Annette's clothes. Case settled by Vincy paying to Annette ten dollars ($10.00/100) Sept. 7th 1868 18. Frank Johnson cold. vs. Willis Sweeney cold. Complains that Sweeney owes him $3.50/100. Case settled by Sweeney coming to this office and paying the money due 128 19 Mrs. S.A. Richardson, vs. Alles Harris cold. Complains that Harris owes him money for one Stove, a Buggy &c Summoned Harris to appear which he did Case settled by Harris returning the stove and paying the Bal. of the bill, by Note due at sight. Sept. 6th 1868. 20 Jacob Stutzman vs. N.B. Earhart cold. Complains that Earhart owes him six dollars & 95/100 ($6.95/100) which he has sued him for and wishes to garnish the money in my hands, Case settled by Earhart giving me permission to pay Mr. Stutzman the money which was done. Sept. 5th 1868. 21 Lewis Williams cold. vs. Noah James [[Elger?]] Complains that James has fenced up the road. (a private one) that he has to use in passing from his (Williams) place to the County Road, Williams has to pass over a portion of James place. in getting out & in from his place, a privilege granted him by the Board of Police. Requested Mr James to permit Williams to pass until his crops are harvested and marketed. After which he can close it again at his own options. Request complied with to settle case. Sept. 1868.
