Respectfully returned to the Asst Com'r with information that the matter has been carefully investigated and no evidence can be obtained of Edward Long over owning the horse or any horse at that time. 
David Palmer states that he drove the team at that time for Wm Reid who owned it, and sold it to Rob't Jordan who has the horse now. 
The horse was not sold under a warrant. David King states taht he has been intimately acquainted with Long for (12) twelve years. and that he (Long) never owned a horse. He is sure that Long did not own this horse at that time.
