I fully concur with Lieut Chase, in his opinion that it would be better not to make any changes in the court at present, as I think the fear of the military authority will make them administer justice in all cases, until the county can be reorganized under the reconstruction law, any cases of injustice, that may occur, will be reported at once.

This request of petitioner for an appropriation of from $1000 to $2000 for the erection of a county church cannot be entertained, for two reasons. 1st A much smaller sum would meet all that is essential for a school house, which is the only interest the Bureau is at liberty to consider.
2nd No provision has been made for the support of a school
