Respectfully returned with the following information. Capt. Green Supt. U.S.A. Corps at this place says, that the within statement of Wm. E. Crockett is correct except that his name was not placed on the rolls, that it is by orders of the Quarter Master General U.S.A. that colored men are paid only fifteen dollars per month, that Bvt. Lt. Col. James M. Moore, A.Q.M. Washington, D.C. can give all the information desired in regard to the order.
