Morse, S.A.C. with the information that the children Virinda, Louisa and Franklin Carter are not living with either of the within names parties, Virinda is now living in the family of Church Clove (Cold.) whose wife is a cousin. Louisa is living with Mrs. Elizabeth Huffman, in this county, Franklin is being with Augustin Washington (cold.) whose wife is Aunt to the children. The relatives state that they are unable to give the children proper care and attention and are desirous that they be sent to their mother. Respectfully returned to Capt James A. Bates, S.A.C. with the information that I have waited upon Mr. Gill, Supt. R.&F. R.R., and was by him informed that he had made enquiries respecting the new-admission of Miss Cooper into the waiting room, and that the party could not be found who had referred her, and that further, no employee had orders to refuse admittance to any person, no matter what color. The waiting room is not kept open after the departure of the train, and is only open a short time before for those who are waiting transportation.

Respectfully returned. The following facts with reference to the Minor boys have been ascertained. John is a drayman in this city, married, with two children. Albert is working in the shippers Cotton Press; Eddy is employed in doing odd jobs about the city. Albert & Eddy are unmarried and would join their father if transportation was given them. John has formed such ties as will prevent his leaving the City. There are no impediments in the way of the boys joining their father except those mentioned. The failure of letters to reach them was probably from imperfect directions. Letters directed to the care of this office will reach them.
