Dist. with the information that the within named Maria Panacks, (Carolines mother) left her home (Thomas Panacks as Buckingham, C.H. Va.) about twelve months ago, taking with her, her two daughters Kate & Rose, she went to Petersburg and died there. Kate & Rose are still in Petersburg. Edmond (Carolines brother) left his home (Thos. Panacks) during the war & has not been heard from for several years. (Sgd.) Jno. W. Jordan Bvt. Lt. Col. U.S.A. & A.S.A.C. Bur. R.F. & A.L. Hd. Qrs. 2nd S. Dist. Va. Petersburg, Va. June 8th 67 Respectfully returned to the Asst. Comr. Va. Maria Panock the mother died in this city Nov. 8th 1866. Her daughters Kate and Rose are in Petersburg, hired out. Letters addressed to Miss Kate Copper (Cold) care of Capt. Platt, Jamatts Hotel, Petersburg, Va. will reach them. Of the brother, no information can be obtained further than that given in Endorsement of Bvt. Lt. Col. J.W. Jordan, on the enclosed communications.
