Comr. of Va. with the recommendation that $200- be appropriated for the erection of a schoolhouse at Harrisonburg — After a personal Examination I find that the trustees of the colored church forbid its use for future school purposes — A sight for a school house has been purchased and paid for by the colored people and a building 40 x 20 (which is the size of the church used) can be erected for about $250- If $200- is furnished by the Bureau, I am assured by the local preacher, that the balance will be made up by the colored people of Harrisonburg.
