Lodwick Ham left the plantation of Maynard Ham in the spring or summer of 1865 and went to New-Berne, N. Ca. Sally Best left the plantation of Nicholas Best about the same time and also went to New Berne. I infer that the persons named above and referred to in the letter are those sought; and am informed indirectly that they now reside at New Berne N.C.
