Respectfully returned to Maj: W. R. Morse S.A.C. I have investigated this case & find the lady's statement correct. I can suggest nothing unless the paper is referred to the office at Afton Depot for him to investigate the part taken by B.F. Harlin in defrauding Mrs. Mary Hays, its the issues of rations, are stopped nothing can be done for her in this hire but Harkin might be compelled to give something towards her support since he has beat her out of her property. I ascertain from citizens around the neighborhood that he is a grand rascal.
