Respectfully returned to Bvt. Lt. Col. Eugene Pickett, A.A.A.G. &c with the information that the within named Eda Smith is living in this place. She is able, and willing to travel to the residence of her son, provided she can be furnished with transportation. She is old and is earning nothing but her food. She has not the means to defray her expenses to Va. I would respectfully recommend that transportation be furnished her to go to her son.

Respectfully returned to Bvt. Lt. Col. James Johnson, S.A.C. with the information that Sarah Acors is willing and able to provide for the children within named, either by caring for them herself or by providing them good homes. I am assured by the man with whom Sarah Acors lives that the children will not become dependent. Ceasar Frazier the father of the children lives in this county and perhaps could be prevailed upon to help support them; but he can not be depended upon as he will only work when he can live no longer without it. He is (I am informed) a worthless trifling man.
