I received your note of the 15th inst. enquiring the whereabouts of Jane Hill & James Hill, They are at my house, I am paying them valuation for their labor they are fed and clothed and subject to their parents order whenever they have a way of getting to them I had promised to send them whenever anyone passed to take care of them on the road. Have known of no opportunity of sending them.

I respectfully report that no action was taken in time by the civil authorities in the case of outrage against Julia Ware in Caswell Co. because she did not apply and give evidence; that she has now removed from the place of Wm Hodge in Caswell Co. near Danville to Pittsylvania Co. Va and nothing can be done before she appears before a magistrate and takes out a warrant and makes affidavit against Thos. Ware
