I am directed by Maj: Genl. Howard to return the enclosed papers in the case of Mrs Mary Johnson and her son William Johnson for further inquiry.

Mrs Johnson says her son is on Brook Avenue the right hand side going up, and that there is a chain on the door, the only one on that side.

She also states that Mr. Thomas H. Hill, P.O. 99, is acquainted with his whereabouts. Mr Hill has been written to and requested to communicate the necessary information
