Upshur Notary Public who forwarded enclosed claims informs me that having communicated with Chipman Hosmer & Co. they inform him that they sent a check for the amount to Petersburg, Va. payable to the order of Stephen Davis, he having sent his claim from that place. Davis is now and has been, for some time in North Carolina.
