Alexander S. Glenn is with Mr. McDaniels near Hoboken, N.J. The latter claims that the boy is bound to him by the Civil authorities of Hudson, Co. N.J. and says that he "will cause any one a great deal of trouble that attempts to interfere with the boy"
The boy is nearly white. Says he came on the boat from Richmond of his own accord "That he does not know whether he wants to return to his mother or not."
Henry Carter is employed by McDaniels but was about the day of my visit (Nov: 6th)
Mr. McDaniels claims that Ann Glover is a woman of abandoned character, that she is now living unlawfully with a white man in Richmond.
Mr. McDaniels was formerly a large slave owner
